Meet Emily B
Emily
We are so lucky to have Emily on the team, even if it is just for a short time while she is looking for a new job. I have known Emily for a good few years and we have been coaching the Hook Runners morning training sessions together for over 3 years.
Usually she is busy juggling being a mummy and a senior data technology leader, however due to a recent redundancy, she has joined the team to help some people in the community while she has some free time available. This is surely a loss to the world of data technology but a massive gain to Hook Home Help and our clients.
Emily has transitioned seamlessly from the world of data technology to our little team of home helpers. Having started with one client, she is now covering for helpers taking holiday and is getting to know a whole range of people.
She has got off to a flying start helping people with a wide range of needs. Taking one lady shopping, doing housework and home help for others and also getting involved in a major decluttering project - all in one day!
Emily is kind and gentle and easy to talk to. She is empathetic to clients with a range of needs. She can deal with chopping and changing and has already made a real contribution to the team. She is flexible and reliable and I don’t know what we would have done without her.
On top of all of that, Emily has sourced and implemented a new software system that has revolutionised the admin systems behind the scenes. This has reduced admin load on the helpers and increased efficiency and accuracy of invoicing.
This is one of those occasions when you didn’t know how much you needed the help until the help arrived - which is often what our clients say.
Emily’s IT skills and knowledge have totally streamlined our systems and given us more time to focus on the important part of the job - looking after people.
