One day I went in to see a client who was feeling down. It was a beautiful spring day so I suggested that she might like to come for a drive to see the blossom and the sunshine. She had a think while I did some household jobs and then said she would very much like to go out for a bit.

She had thought of a route and we drove around the lanes visiting places that had been important to her and her family over the years. Places where family had lived and where special times had been spent together.

We stopped to look at lambs and blossom. She said she would really like to see some cows so we took a detour and found some. We were lucky to see a little calf and her mum just close to the fence. We stopped and stayed in the sunshine looking at each other and enjoying the springtime.

When we got home she felt a lot happier. Nothing had changed, but it does us all good to get and about, to have a change of scene and spend some time in nature. As we get older it can be harder to get out and we are here to help.
