Hook Home Help will always be there when you need us. Recently one of our lovely gentlemen had a fall. He is 92 and is usually totally independent. He will only accept some help every other week with the cleaning. He is sweet and gentle but very firm about not accepting any more help than that - until he fell down the stairs carrying a Christmas tree!

His granddaughter showed me the dent in the wall that he made as he crash landed to the bottom! He was sore but nothing was broken. Even he had to admit that he needed some more help for a while.

His daughter called me to let me know straight away and to ask if we go in every day to help him with some lunch while he was less mobile.

Every day we went in and made sure he had lunch and water, a cup of tea, and everything he needed for the afternoon. I messaged his daughter to let her know how he was.

He was grateful for our extra support but as soon as he felt better we were back on fortnightly cleaning duties! This lovely young lady is in charge of regular cleaning duties but when he needed us, I went straight in the next day to help.

We will always be there when people need us. We can go in once a week on a regular basis and then we step it up in times of crisis and step down again as soon as the client feels stronger.

Hook Home Help is helping people in our local community. Sometimes we are the cleaning ladies. Sometimes we are the emergency lunch ladies. Sometimes we are the ones you call to get you to an emergency dental appointment holding teeth in an envelope! Sometimes you call us to go and visit an old friend or relative.
