This is a lovely review from a special client who I love to spend time with, and I love to hear her stories. She tells me all about her life from her childhood in Germany to South Africa and then Hook. She has told me stories of her mother and grandmother and tales of her children’s adventures when they were little. I love how my clients talk about their children as mischievous toddlers when they are now in their sixties. And she shares how proud she is of her grandchildren and what they are getting up to. She always tells me how grateful she is for the love and support of her family and for the life she has had.
Even on a short trip to the hospital our conversation flows from the weather to the family to world politics and to her acceptance of the inevitability of aging and death and what is really important in life.
She introduces me to the doctors as her good friend and when I help her to remember things she says, “I am so lucky to have a friend like you”.
She will sometimes forget some words and say things like, “Silly me and my silly memory, I keep forgetting and it must be so annoying for everyone…”, but it is never annoying. It is always a pleasure to be in her company. She makes me laugh and she warms my heart.
