Hook Home Help helps with loneliness in Loneliness Awareness Week, and always

This week is #LonelinessAwarenessWeek
Loneliness can happen at any age but is most likely as we get older. We go to help with practical issues like changing sheets but as the relationship grows we spend more time listening to our clients chat about their families, their losses and their concerns.

We are offering home help which covers pretty much anything you would do for your mum or your gran, and at the same time we are always happy to listen. We like listening to people's stories and will always make time to stay if our clients need a chat.

Sometimes we are the only people that our clients see all week. For a long time now I've made sure I say hello to every older person who I pass when I'm out running or walking. Loneliness is a real problem for older people and we will do what we can to help with that without drawing attention to it.

Sometimes I ask, "What shall I do first?", and the answer is, "Put the kettle on and come and have a chat"
