A random act of kindness

Today was Random Acts of Kindness day and this made me think of a day last week when I went to see one of my regular ladies and we had a bit more of a chat than usual and she asked for some reassurance about something, and then suddenly she asked me, “What are you having for dinner?”. It was only ten o’clock in the morning and in the two seconds that I took to think about what the answer might be, she said, “I’ll give you a dinner”.

She went off to the freezer and rummaged and came out with a homemade lasagne. I was so touched I nearly cried. She is 92 and she gave me a homemade lasagne! 

She then gave me detailed instructions, telling me to add some wine to it while it was cooking and off she went, saying “God bless!” and waving as she went.

That completely warmed my heart and made my day. It was so nice to come home at the end of the day and know it was there waiting for me - and it was delicious.
