I received this lovely message after we went to meet a new client. We never charge for the first meeting, we just go along to get to know each other and to find out what is needed and how we can help. We listen to people’s stories and about the difficulties they have encountered. Sometimes they feel better just from being able to tell their story.
We work out together what they need most and how we can best support them. We chat about tasks and times and start to form a plan together.
Sometimes people like to take some time to think before they book us in and others want to get going straight away. We met this family one Friday morning and had a long chat and they asked us to start the next week, but clients are welcome to take as long as they want to decide if they want to go ahead.
This beautiful young lady joined Hook Home Help a little while ago. She already works at The Old Raven Care Home and has a lot of experience in working with people with dementia. She says that she finds it interesting how the same issue affects different people in different ways. She is calm and genuinely so naturally caring.
The Old Raven said, “She is kind, patient and goes above and beyond with every resident she supports, which is truly inspiring. Her kind caring nature is amazing to watch and something that is so beneficial to the people who she supports.”
She is already making friends with her clients and their families. She is ready to help anyone in any way. The way she talks about the people who she looks after really warms my heart and we are so lucky to have her on the team.
Contact me if you would like to have a chat about what we could do to help you
